Clutch Cable Adjuster
Is it normal for the clutch cable adjuster to be all the way in in order for the clutch not to slip?
i.e. when i back out the clutch cable adjuster further than maybe a 1/8 inch the clutch will slip around 10 or 11k. Im asking because with the adjuster all the way in, the clutch engages really late in the lever range and I keep missing 2nd gear and going into neatral which really sucks after redlining 1st. I like the way the clutch lever feels when it engages earlier in the lever range, and I have a feeling I wouldnt be missing 2nd as much but I dont know because the clutch wont hold at this setting thanks for your help |
RE: Clutch Cable Adjuster

RE: Clutch Cable Adjuster
Have you tried adjusting the clutch cable on the bottom end? There's much more adjustment down there than at the lever.

RE: Clutch Cable Adjuster
I'd check the adjustment at the cover, but my guess is that the root of the problem is worn clutch springs. If you wanted to replace those, its really not that hard, and wouldn't cost too much. I'd probably do that before I bought a new clutch cable.
