Did you decide whether or not you're going to paint over the red carbon? I wish I had PSP so I could show you what I think would look killer. Are those GSX-R750 front forks a direct bolt-on? What else did you have to swap out with them?.... master cylinder? Calipers? Rotors? etc... Do you think maybe the GSX-R600 forks would give a better ride?

I first had 95 gsxr front end. it was a direct swap. Then when the new ones came out with radial calipers, I had to have it. Problem was I already had the 3 spoke Marchesini for the 95 and the 320mm brembosthat they do not make for the newer bikes. Also, the new front ends have a larger steering stem. So, I had to use the 95 triple clamps with the 06 forks. Then the next problem, the newer forks use a larger axle. So I had a guy make a sleeve for the right side and a threaded collar for the left that both fit inside the forks and the axle fit inside the two. He also made the spacers for the calipers to fit the 320mm rotors.

Now, see how ez that was.

another option is to buy the complete front end and have the stem turned down. I have a guy that can probably do it. You can pick up the front ends realatively cheap on ebay.

Dude, you're talking too much shop lingo for me. What does "turned down" mean?

if the diameter for example of the gsxr steering stem is 15mm, and the stock f2 steering stem is 12mm(these are just guesses), then you could have a machine shop turn down(on a lathe) the 15mm stem 3mm so that it would be 12mm.

Just got my seat recovered and the bike delivered to the painter. I am as excited as Rosie O with a bowl full of Snickers. Not sure on how long it will be b4 he is done, but I can't wait.We came up with alittle trick that is going to be a major biotch, but I think we can pull it off. Anyways, here is a pic of the seat. Ihad it embroidered and covered in white carbon.
