Default chain/sprocket kit

So my chain is stretched out to the point where I'm scared to ride and it's time to fork out the money for a new kit..I was hoping someone had some suggestions on a low budget kit or what i should buy being that i am very poor.

If you are very poor you should sell your bike, and reconsider your priorities.

On second thought, bikes rank pretty high priority on my list.. haha

Just remember you get what you pay for. last i looked a full set from RK was $240 from an online store. Thats for the Quick Accel kit if i remember correctly. Its the gold chain fancy shmansy stuff, i think the OE kit was around the same price, so giver her some nut.

I put an RK chain/sprocket kit on mine a few years back and it was around $150 from Dennis Kirk. Works great. I think they are somewhere between $160-170 now. Have you tried ebay yet?

yeah looked at ebay and saw those RK kits for around 140$. A also saw a 520 conversion kit for around the same price and my buddies got that on his bike and loves it, so im considering that... As far as selling the bike i probably should have done that awhile ago but i love the thing too much!

I bought my first chain from eBay and it was $99. Cheap O-ring deal with sprockets. I just put a new one on this spring. $115 from ebay and it was a Regina kit with an XSO chain. I notice I am getting ~4MPG better now with nothing else changed. Anyway, don't go conversion, and don't go aluminum sprockets. The original materials will last longer, and if you think you don't have the money now, don't buy something that you will have to replace 2x faster.
