Default Chain Question

Just recently put a new chain on my 93 cbr 600, i put a DID 530NZ Super Roller Chain on it. Should i have gotten an O-Ring chain instead? It was brought up to me by my mechanic. He said it would be fine, but i was having second thoughts. Don't really want to have to go and spend more money on a chain, but if this chain isn't safe on it i guess i would have too. Any suggestions on what i should do?

i would assume that you would be fine..

after i got the stretch on i was told not to get a o-ring chain..get a reg chain or a heavy duty drag racing specific chain.. but i am sure that has something to do with launching the bike from a dead stop at 8,000rpm's +

Some people will say you HAVE to put an O ring chain on, but the only reason for the O rings is to keep the dirt out. There is more than one site out there that will tell you that a regular chain will last just as long as an o-ring chain with regular cleaning. They all say though that anX ring chain will easily outlast an o-ring or standard chain.

I'd say as long as you keep it clean, keep it and replace when stretched too far.

does keeping it clean just mean keeping it lubed? how often should it be lubed? Any certain brands of lube work the best? Thanks for helping me out guys!
