Default CCT question

Hello everyone!

I was wondering who has had their cam chain tensioner CCT, replaced already and if so at what miles?

What kind did you get?

And do you remember how much it cost? I have a '92 600f2 with 23,xxx miles.

Thanks!

Thanks 2muchspl

I appreciate it...I had no idea it was such a small piece.

How can you tell if the cct is going bad? By the sound?

sorry been tearing up the asphalt, one way i could tell is let the bike get up to operating temperture and shut it off, then start it back up- there will be a sound ( fellas help me out on this!) like putting 6 long screws in a tin can and shaking it around in a constant motion. it can easily be heard. Its located on throttle side on the bike and 2 10mm bolts hold it on, look online for instructions on how to set the depth of the rod because too loose puts you in the same boat as the stock automatic and to tight damages other internal parts

Hello ,
Mine made a really loud rumbling noise when run up to temp and then the throttle was held at 4000 rpm , if its bad you can't miss it .
Replaced with a standard oil pressure fed one and that went within 300 miles ! Bought a manual one from cbr zone , easy fit and have had no problems since after about 3000 miles .

I have a question along the same line here... I just bought the manual tensioner my self and I did have the noise described... hasn't arrived yet lol so the bike is sitting parked... but, how long to the chains usualy last??? is there a service limit on them? I have been checking around and can't find one listed any were... also how did you set tension on your manual tensioner...??? I was told to make it snug then back off a half turn... but snug is in the arm of the wrench holder lol... has any one messured a safe torque setting in inch pounds? or how did you go about setting it? Thanx
