I bought one of these new in 1991. What a fantastic bike, really enjoyed it and always regretted selling it. So much so that I bought another one yesterday and it's now sat in my garage.
Red and Black, just like the one I had before, 1991 CBR600FM. It's just taken me back nearly 20 years!

Nice review.

Rob

Default New to the forum

hello there

i just joined the forum and thought id introduce myself and my bike properly.

i've only had the bike since june (when i passed my test) its a 91 model and has just done 33,000. I paid £800 for it, with only 1 previous owner.

I have done a little bit of work to it to make it my own (New chain and sprockets, tail tidy, small number plate, arrow indicators, single seat cowl, viper race can, tinted screen, carbon yolk cover and renthal grips) but it was in excellent condition when i bought it

Excellent Review, good to know what I have sitting in my garage is worth the money I spent! Here in Chicago, IL I won't be able to get on it until May- if i am lucky at that. I am happy about my purchase. I bought mine for $1600 with 7200 miles on it...women found it in her barn, ran compression on it and perfect across the board. Now i just get to mod it while it sits

I'd like to make mention of a slight fairing difference in some of the F2 models. There was a grab handle mounted just to the rear of the seat on some of these models and I'm not sure if that was a Euro bike thing or not. I found this out after ordering chinese replacement fairings (they look great, but the fit is only an 8 compared to stock being a 10) and finding that the left and right tail sections included a cutout for said grab handle. Not anything major, just another small detail of the F2.

I bought my f2 a couple months back and I love it.
1991 white/red
All fairings, stock everything
8500 miles, and s leaky petcock and old tires.
$1600. Most of the guys I ride with say I got a good deal on a "classic". Just bought a used yoshi pipe, can't wait for it to show up.
Just went on a group ride downtown Seattle. 200+ riders/stunters mobbing through busy Seattle. Check it out. YouTube search "kitsap takeover" enjoy

Love the bike btw!
