CBR 600 F2 Progress
I thought i would start a rebuild thread on my F2 and try and keep my questions all in one place......I bought the bike fairly cheap back in the autumn to give me something to do over the winter.....
The bike overall is in good condition...The bike is a F2 with F3 front forks, wheel, wiring harness ,and gauges..
The main problem with the bike was a fairly major crack in the crankcase and was leaking oil .......
it was a case of either get it welded or it would have been replacement engine time...but a guy fairly local to me did a good job on the welding, just hope it last`s
Had to do a bit of sanding to get the mateing face for the cover flat, and had problems getting the cover to seal and not leak oil...so after a bit of messing about i decided the cover must be warped(as it had a welded repair) so put on a new cover sealed with Threebond , job done, no more leaks
Next was the problem with the tacho and the speedo not working..
after doing some electrical test found the clocks to be dead.so got hold of a new set.
The set up for the speedo on the bike now is a 97 set of gauges..
a sprocket speed sensor from a 900rr 95-97..works as it should and is giving a reading of beetween 0 and 5 volts at the gauge end on the pink/green wire
But still i can`t get the speedo to work.everyting else on the gauges works even the oddmeter,so i need to get this sorted so i can start getting the bike back together...Any idea`s .Steve
