Carb rebuild, where to get?
I need to know where to get a rebuild kit for my 91 F2. I'm told the carbs need to be redone cause the damn thing dies on the freeway. Been getting progressivley worse and now doesn't like to idle. Crack the throttle and it dies. I'm looking around online and I'm having a hard time. This bike is my only transportation at the time and I need to get this thing running. Any help is greatly appriciated.

RE: Carb rebuild, where to get?
Here is the site that I had to buy individual parts for my carb rebuild ca get somewhat $$$ but it must be done. As we post I am waiting on my parts right now. Once you get the carbs of it is pretty easy and self ex[planitory. I would also prepare to sink the carbs again after doing so.......

What exactly do you mean by rebuild?
Order the gaskets and then pull the carbs and clean them out. Make sure ALL jets are clear. Make sure the bowls look fine and the floats move freely and aren't damaged. Then reinstall, sync them then fine tune the idle screws as per the service manual.

Look in the how-to section for a how to rebuild your carbs. Do what the first post tells you, then on the bottom of the first page, i made a post about how to clean the jets. The jets are the most important part so dont skimp there. You sohuldnt have to buy anything except a $4 can of carb cleaner

RE: Carb rebuild, where to get?
I need to revive this thread.
It is a common problem for our carburetors to fail due to worn floatneedle/seat, there are countless threads on this forum and others about people's bikes mysteriously dying with the same symptoms and I believe this is the cause.
Honda wants upwards of $30 PER needle (x4) and $40 for a gasket kit PER carb (x4) - That's getting up to $300 just to fix a small problem, IF you do it yourself.
I'd like to know if anybody has found a cheaper alternative to buying new parts.
Ebay has a slough of used carbs that one may get lucky with the internals by swapping them and using 2 carbs to make one good one - but you are likely to get just another bad carb.

RE: Carb rebuild, where to get?
If you have to come to the point where you need to replace your needles, then just buy a dynojet kit. Clean out the pilots circuit real good. The carb rebuild kits are about $30 but thats because they include just about ALL the rubber pieces in a single carb body. You cannot buy individual gaskets through Honda. Ive only known honda parts to be the most reliable when it comes to seals and gaskets. The fork seals are a good example. The OEM seals work better than any other aftermarket seal. Anyone try out www.mycycles.com for good prices on OEM parts?
