Reset the screws, Sync the carbs then fine tune the screws. Lots of carbon...maybe too rich or is too lean can't remember...

Download the service manual...it has a HUGE troubleshooting section. See if you can borrow someone's synchronizer.

ok i say you shud do this 2 things 1st set the air to gasthat is the hafe moons and 2nt sycronize the carbs ....... both of the jobs all youhave to do it take the carbes off the intake manalfold .... no reasen to open up the carbs every thing you need is on the out side ...now seting the air to gas is a very easy job to do its just turn all the way to the left than from ther 2 1/2 right and you shud be set .....but the sycronizeing is the harder part it takes patience to do if you can stay cool and do it slow than you shud be good.

If you turn the air/fuel screw all the way to the left it will fall out.

You want to turn it all the way "in" (to the right) until it is lightly seated, then back it off1 1/4turns or whatever the manual says, cant remember.

To synch the carbs you're gonna want to take your bike to a shop, you cant do it yourself without the mercury gauges...

With all due respect, if you dont know what you're doing, pay to have somebody that does fix it... That way it gets done right the first time, and nothin else gets busted.
