can't start bike...
Hi All
My 91 F2 was draining the battery the other day. I manage to push start it. When I try to re-start it again, it wont start and I hear
a rapid flicking noise, like a spark jumping or something. It is coming from the left rear of the bike, just below the seat. Does this sound like
I have shorted the wire going to the battery or something? Im pretty new at this, so any help will be appreciate.
Thx.

RE: can't start bike...
if its the same sound im thinking of, my friends did the same thing when the battery was dead. its when it doesnt have enough charge to crank the motor over. check you battery to see if its still good. it will at least use a charge. i recommend using a charger instead of just running the bike around, it will charge it fully. i picked up a cheap trickle charger at autozone, 20$. but they will charge it for free. but it sounds like the battery is dead and you need a new one. if you ride the bike a lot and it happens again, then i would start checking the alternator and other wiring. but if it sits a long time, it might just drain on its own.

RE: can't start bike...
yo i'm in the same boat now, i thought it wouldn't start because of the colder weather, but i managed to start it for a second, then tried again, and it sounded like the starter was dying (slower and slower), then i got the same clicking/buzzing sound he's talkin about. i am off tomorrow so i will investigate further and try shiny's advice. i was also told to check wiring and try to push start? hopefully it will work out. thanks. ps. the lights still come on but i'm assuming there's not enough juice to turn the engine...
