i tried starting my 94 cbr cuz i put a new battery and it doesnt want to stay on......i push the start button it cranks, it turns on and revs up by itself up to like 5000 rpm and then it just shuts off. it hasnt been ridden for months, can anyone help me or give me some advice on this situation?

 

Sounds like the carbs may need a good cleaning. There should be a detailed instructions if you need them in the how-to section somewhere if you do a search. Also, if the bike has been sitting for months, the gas may be stale if a fuel stabilizer wasn't used. How long has it been sitting?

 

probably around 6 months, thing is the last owner had told me that he had turn it on himself to warm it up and had the same small problem but i'll check that how to section. most likely it is that problem thanks!!

 

Yeah, get those carbs cleaned out and put fresh fuel in the tank.
