Default Cant open gas tank

I bought my f2 a few months ago. I have only filled it twice but now I need gas and cant open the gas tank. It looks pretty corroded. I can get the key all the way in but it wont turn. Any suggestions before i break my key?

Try pushing down slightly on the gas cap while you turn the key. This will take the pressure off of the latch mechanism.

I thought all I would have to do is take off the gas cap from the outside of the bike. All that did was loosen the pieace around the actual cap. Do I have to take off the entire tank to take off the cap?

Seriously, try this. Push down hard as you turn the key. Mine sometimes needs a hard push before I can turn the key.

You can't remove the gas cap without having the cap open. The bolt goes up against the tank and not the cap, so unbolting it won't let you take the cap off.
