Default Broken Speedometer

I have a '94 F2 and this morning on my ride to work I look down and notice that the speedometer is pegged at zero! It stayed this way for the rest of the ride and also for the ride back home. I've looked in my Clymers book I have for it and it doesn't seem to address this problem at all. The cable running from the front wheel to the speedo hasn't been hit by myself or anything big like that that I know of. How can I troubleshoot this to see what the problem is? Is the cable broken, if so how can I test that? Any ideas would be appreciated...Thanks

Take the cable off and see if it's broken inside - that's how you test it.

In all likelyhood it's the cable.

A buddy of mine who used to ride an f2/f3 frankensteiner (now rides a 1000rr) said that if you take the cable off...and try to spin it...and it comes out...or spins and the speedo doesn't move...thats your problem
