Default anyone shed a light

hi all just been out for a run changed gear down from 6th to 5th let the cluth out and nothing just loads of revs and alot of rumbling and thumping coming from the cluth got home stripped her down and cant find anything wrong nothing loose nothing looks broken no metel in the oil only thing i found that might have made a noise is the clutch basket was a bit worn from the drive plates so i bought another one but i dont think this was the problem so was wondering if anyone else had an idea before i put her all back together then have to strip her again also whats the oil level on a 1991 cbr 600 have been told to fill it while on the side stand by one person then told to do it with the bike on a rear paddock stand any help please

Fill the oil with the bike sitting up. You can have someone sit on it holding it straight while someone else checks the oil. Have you tried to put it in 5th again since you heard it? If not it could have been a gear slip.

sorry about no punctuation. while i have had the bike stripped i have had it on a stand and into every gear and spung the back wheel with no noise. i am putting her back together today so will see what happens. cheers

Didn't press the shifter down hard enough, false neutral... Try to be more affirmative with your shifting and you should be okay.
