94-98 F2/F3 forks really that much better?
Hey everyone. Well i have a 92 CBR 600 F2, The front springs have been replaced by a set of Racetech springs/gold valves etc. I also have a set of forks from a 94 F2, the new style with rebound/damping adj. I was just wondering are the new style forks really that much of an improvement...? From what i've read they are a completely different design, much better. I was just wondering if it would be possible to swap the Racetech springs from my F2 forks into the 94 F2 forks. My buddy says 90% of riders dont need that stiff of springs. The bike was previously my Bros and he was bigger than me and was basically on race level riding skills. My buddy says i'll probably almost do better than with the stock springs, than with the race ones. I've basically learned to ride the bike to its limit now. I know its not perfectly adjusted for my weight though. But i'm wondering if i swap on these other forks, if that limit will be increased. Well anyways any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There isn't just one answer to this question. Much of this depends on your weight, riding skill, riding style and environment. Stiff spring on the track are great, but they very harsh on the streets. Too stiff is just as bad as too soft.
So it's hard to say that one fork is better than another. The 94 forks offered more adjustablility than the 92. But if you like they way the 92's feel, then there's no reason not to keep running them. The key is to find what suits you. So I'd say, swap the others in, ride it and see what you think. If you don't like them, then switch back.
Also remember that a bike is a system of parts working together. Putting stiff springs up front can upset the balance of the bike if you are still running the stock rear shock. Many people concentrate on forks and ignore the rear shock. It's hugely important in how a bike feels and handles.
Hope I've help confuse you.
