looks good bro imo though you should round off the front edge of the shroud (by the headers) on both sides so they flow with the 90 degree bend of the header and leave the back one pointy...

but ur call ;)

haha... these are just the cardboard ones too... they will be fine tuned. i cut out aluminum sheet to finalize the shape. (like what you are talking about) and to get the brackets figured out. once i do that i will make the final parts of the honeycomb. (mmmm delicious!)

So quick question how much ground clearance did you lose with the exaughst the way it is compared to stock?

hard to tell really. the back is raised a hbit because of the different swinger and spring, and this bike wont have a fairing under the exhaust. but i am guessing i lost about 2"

did some work.

mocked up the shrouds. mostly figuring out the mounting before i do anything else.

but then i had to flat-black them.

finalizing shape and material...

took it to a local meet/maintainance day with all my SV buddies. got to rub shoulders with a honda gb 500. and got some "old vs. new" pics. can you tell which was taken with my dying point and shoot, and which were with the new digital SLR?

oh yeah... and the whole reason i was able to go was because i was able to fix my brake problem. it turns out that the ebay levers were actually depressing the Master cylinder when it was supposed to be all the way open. So no fluid was able to travel back up the lines and into the reservoir. So, as soon as the fluid headed up in the calipers, it expanded; clamping down on the rotors with no way of reliving the pressure.

but now that that is fixed, i can actually start riding the bike. very excited. i have plans for the shrouds and should start working on them soon.

The bike looks amazing.

You really nailed the way the bike sits. That's my favorite part about it. With the swingarm and front end swap, that is a tricky thing to consider. Amazing job. I love your bike. Great work on the tail as well.

And why don't you just go ahead and machine an entire bike minus the motor? lol, seems like you could.

Looks sweet... though the mirrors stand out to me. think about powder coating them?

yep! or replacing them with something better.
I started on some new rearsets. designed them or i could replace the existing rearsets one component at a time. levers next, then pegs

Wow! Just Wow! Dude, you are killing me! You have got to be the most meticulus maniac I have ever seen. I almost hate to think you might actually be on it on the street. ;-)

Ok, done what I can with the tissues (keyboards still sticky though!).

I noticed it lookes like you finalized the under-belly panels, was hoping for another full-profile pic. ;-)

Thanks for the entertainment, Ern
