Default 1994 CBR F2 - Need Advice on Tires

I'm new to the site and i have a 94 CBR 600 F2. It needs new tires and I'm looking for insight and advice on a good affordable tire. Not sure if it matters but I live in Michigan so I only ride 6 or 7 months out of the year...also I won't be taking the bike to the track so I don't really need track tires. Just looking for a solid street tire that is affordable and I can get a lot of miles out of. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help, im loving the forum so far, tons of great information!

Bridgestoen Battalax BT016's have always treated me good, and run like $210 a pair. Shinko tires are all of $30 cheaper, and I'm sure offered equal to slightly inferior handling.

Pilot Roads or Pilot Powers get my vote. Roads being the cheaper option.

I have BT016s on my F2 as well, and they are great-they're sticky, warm up fast and grip all the way to the edge. If you carve a lot of canyons, they will not last on you (I have some friends who get less than 2000mi out of a pair). The race compound on the outer edge wears real quick. But I have a feeling that they will wear pretty well for commuting but be sticky when you want to drag knee because of the sport touring compound on the middle. If you're mainly commuting and riding fairly straight roads, a sport touring tire like BT021s will treat you well. They get good mileage and I'e heard they handle reasonably well. Bridgestone makes nice tires, and they sell for a lot less than comparable tires from Michelin/Pirelli/Metzler/etc.

I'll second the Pilot Roads, they are a dual compound tyre with the hard centre, soft edge. Have plenty of grip for a play in the mountains or even in wet weather, but most important they last longer.

same here because that's what i run, no issues in twisties or wet weather...i don't have any experience with the bridgestones. i don't think you could go wrong with either from the sounds of it.

Sounds like they're the exact same price as Bridgestone BT016's
