1150 miles in 22.5 Hours. What a ride!!
A couple of weeks ago I rode my 94 CBR F2 to San Antonio from Cheyenne, WY. I took two days to go down and returned in 22.5 hours. I'm sending my ride info to the Iron Butt Association for review. My CBR is modified for long distance riding with a corbin saddle, a custom seat pad (I made out of an old UH60-A blackhawk helicopter seat pad) and a set of clip-ons from a FJ1200. I rode through the northern edge of Hurricane Dolly and some serious tornadic storms in the plains of eastern Colorado. Not a big deal for the brand new Avon Storm STs on it.Although not really designed for endurance riding, the CBR performed flawlessly. A testament to proper tuning and maintenance. I'm 45 years old and it was gratifying to realize that I'm still as tough as I ever was. Just another thing to check off on my bucket list.

Man, I did five hours today through the mountains and felt like I was riding a Mustang bareback when I was done. Now after reading this I just feel like aa big softie! I really need to think about that corbin seat! (though I must admit, lately I have been seriously mulling a sport-tourer!).

That's a great ride!
A few years back I completed a IBA ride on my 94F-2 the ride was a little over 1,200 miles in just under 23 hours I rode about 500 miles of back roads thru eastern Ohio thru WVa. and part of Virginia then when it got dark I hit the interstate thru Tn and up thru Ky to finish.
They are a capable machine.

That's a good ride! I've got an F4 and did a similar ride this spring. They're great bikes for touring, good fuel range, relatively comfortable, and don't mind revving all day.
I loaded up more electronics than you, although, some of the Iron Butt guys have more tech gear on board than the lunar missions . I'll have to look into getting a seat made some day.
As for the rain - I made an emergency stop at a Canadian tire for some rain gear. Hi-vis orange!
Good to hear there are more tourers out there.

Wow!All of you guys with those long rides under your belts are my heros! After a few hours of riding, I'm always wishing I had a smaller gas tank so I had more reason to get off more. Got toget myself a Corbin. What do you guys do about thehandgrip vibrations and yourthrottle hand getting tired?
