Default Will 89 parts fit on an 87 ?

A few days after buying my 87 and 89 showed up on my radar. I am wondering whether I should consider buying it as a source of parts. The fairings on my 87 are missing the side parts with the openings, and this one appears to be complete.

Thoughts ?

Are parts for all Fs interchangeable ?

Should I invest in a potential donor bike ?

For the most part they are interchangeable. Keep in mind though, it's 30 years old too.

yeah, that is what I am worried about. I realized my bike is missing the mirrors as well, and sourcing the fairing parts and mirrors might cost more than a second bike, though I am not sure how complete the second bike is apart from the side fairings (it looks like it is missing the front part of the cowling housing the headlights and such)

edit: now that I look at it carefully I am not sure how the side panels could be there but not the front. Also the side panel looks continuous with the lower aide parts of the cowling whereas I believe they are separate pieces. Aftermarket perhaps ? I will post the one picture from the ad tomorrow when I can get to a computer.

it seems a shame and a bit greedy to cannibalize a bike that might otherwise run (seller claims it did before owner took it apart, but everyone seems to say that !) and storing one let alone two Hurricanes will be a problem for me come winter.

First world problems !!

89 CBR has some performance upgrades compared to earlier models. Revised cylinder head, pistons, valve timing, slightly bigger carbs. Otherwise no differences.
