Update: 2020, Going Vintage Racing!
Well a lot of 2000-2010 era bikes can be had on Facebook and Craigslist for next to nothing. A significant portion of those have questionable ownership and usually no titles. Around where I live the druggies trade them around and buy and sell stolen ones, then run from the police often. Then I see the same bike at the Las Vegas track a week after the Local PD puts out facebook assistance posts about identifying them, with a new rider who just got it the night before.
I doubt they care if they ball one up when it just cost them under $600 and has no title, is stolen, or they traded drugs or other contraband for it.
Maybe I'm jaded because I can't afford to race anymore and just watch and wander the pits.
