Two questions for you guys
Just a thread for my curiosity. Are F1's common to see around? I know for a fact I am the only one with an original F1 in my city here. Which is one of the reasons I bought them. Are they popular in the U.S., Australia, etc.?
Second question: When I was reading around on the 'net I have come across a lot of sites that have both listings for 87 Honda 600F1, and 87 Honda 600 Hurricane ... were there two different productions of this bike?? Here I was thinking I was going to be riding a hurricane? lol :icon_wheel: |
Original Hurricanes are getting more and more rare all the time. The few that you do see are mostly without plastic or have been repainted in different colors. The biggest problem is the cost of oem replacement fairings... even back in the late eighties it was ridiculous. The CBR600F1 and Hurricane are two names for the same bike...Hurricane was dropped to throw off the insurance nazis who were jumping on senator Danforth's ban the sportbike bandwagon.

I'm from Alberta, and besides thrasher I thought I was the only one with a f1, and definatly the only one with a white/grey 1990 model around here.
That was untill the other day i saw one exactly like mine on KIJIJI, and in better shape!! lol |
Luckily insurance isn't an issue in Ontario with the F1 now anyways - it is old enough where it doesn't get caught on the insurance radar. I've got all the plastics with the exception of the two pieces that go inside the upper behind the mirrors. Pretty good all in all - but the with the age of the plastics they need some major tlc.
