Turn Signal Shennanigans

Hey guys--

Not a huge problem but something I've never really seen before no any of my other bikes. My turn signals do not immediately switch on when the bike is cold. The colder the weather, the longer it takes for them to activate right away when the button is hit. Last night it took about 20 seconds from the button switch to the signal actually lighting. I checked my battery thinking that it might be a charging system thing but the battery holds the right charge when cold and the system is producing the right voltage.

Electrical stuff is a black art for me. Any insight would be great.

Your blinker relay is tired...

Ifit's theOEM relay that puppy is closeto 20 years old by now and that relay isolder than some of the members on this site and she is tired andonway to relay heaven.

They are about $30.00 at the Honda shop and as cheap as $9.00 on ebay plus S+H.

It is mounted on theRight side of the battery box and I think you can get to it by only removing the Right side rear panel and it should beattached by a rubber hanger on the relayto a plastic tabthe battery box.

Simply unplug the old one, squirt in some dieelectric grease into therelay electrical plug and reinstall, wipe off excess die electric grease andinstall the side panel and your done, thenblink away!
