Also, i changed the oil and filter yesterday, it was pitch black and old as hell. Anyways, i put a new filter on and pennzoil 10w40 (wasn't sure what is best for these) rode it around and it felt a lot better, then today while i was riding it the clutch was slipping REALLY bad, almost anything above 4k just felt like free revving. So today i changed it again, only with shell rotella 15w40 non-synth and it's better but i can still feel it slipping. Am i using the wrong kind of oil, or what can i do to fix the slipping? bike pulled best with old gross oil in it (dunno what brand it was)

You can buy one from Honda, Ebay or junkyard.

You should have oil specifically engineered for motorcycles, whether it be regular or synthetic. Have you checked your clutch cable?

So i ended up putting in honda gn4 oil and it still slipped, so i pulled the clutch cover and bombed the plates with brake clean, let it evaporate, then put the cover back on, and put the honda oil back in, so it's good now =) my new cct came in yesterday so it threw that in also, and adjusted my clutch cable. just rode it 80 miles, seems fine, aside from no signals still. Thanks for the help.

If the turn signal relay does not click with the turn signal switch on, then it is bad. I got a good used one at a motorcycle salvage yard. Good luck!

Thanks for this, it helped me diagnose and fix my signals.

I thought the switch might be the problem, since after my bike got wet the signal lights would light up but would not blink.

But when I took off my fairing I found my relay was installed harness side up, and the harness doesn't have a boot. When I removed it, water dripped out it, so it is no wonder it went bad.

My project bike had a good relay, so I nabbed it. Notice the water resistant features such as harness boot and harness-down orientation.

My signals work again with the replacement relay, but the left one is flashing fast. The double-time pace on the left seems to indicate a bulb problem, but both the front and rear signal lights are working so I am not sure what the problem is.

Try swapping the signal bulbs from left to right.. quick way to figure out if it's the bulbs or the wiring side causing the problem.

If the faster flashing switches sides w/ the bulbs then one or both of them are bad. If it stays on the same side it's a wiring issue.
