Tire Issue

Hi , I have an 89 Cbr and I am about to buy a new tire. I want a wider tire for better handling. I was hoping someone would help, telling me whats the biggest size I can fit on my bike. Thanks!

Dont be fooled by "bigger" will give you better handling. Stick with the recommended stock sizes for your bike (or rims to be more specific), work out what pressures the tyres you choose like the best and get your suspension dialed in. If your suspension is f%^$ked, get it fixed or revalved to suit what you want. You definately wont regret having your suspension sorted.

There's a whole sticky topic on this very question. I have a 140 on mine but others say the largest you can go with on the stock rim is a 150.

Thanks for the replies. I looked at the thread and then did what I was supposed to do at first. Look at the size of my tire. I have been riding for almost a month and I dont know much. After looking at the thread I looked at my tire and its a 160/80/17, so I have the biggest one that I can use.

I want to ask another question. When I am going on the highway the wind pushes me a lot from the side. What techniques are better to handle this issue.
