Default Stands?

I was about to order some stands and I want to make sure they will work. For the front stand, does the F1 have the holes in the bottom of the forks?

I had a pair of these and they worked good. I did not realize they had the bobbin attachment before I sold them but will probably buy them again as they do actually work really good.
To answer your question, I believe it does have the holes in the bottom. I didnt have stands when I had my Hurricane so I dont remember for sure, but I'll bet it does. If not, you can buy the expensive front end stands (steering stem inserts) or the ones with the rubber pads that grab the forks.

I like the design of the front one, but the rear looks very cheap and ricketty to me.

there are 2 different front stands from pitbull.

one uses the steering head and the other cradles the bottom of the forks. 87-90 do have holes on the bottom of the forks. my preference is to lift the front from the steering head tube.

i was probably going to buy ones for the holes cause they are alot cheaper but i wanted to make sure they would work. i also was not aware the F1 could use the steering head, if im correct on what it is.

i don't know of too many bikes that can't be lifted from the steering head. but the f1 sure can. just remove the horn and that's it.

check this pitbull link, they have good pics of various front stands.

http://www.pit-bull.com/catalog/inde...d1d9f633674e4e

lifting from the steering head, by that i mean there is a hole under the bottom triple clamp that is used, or to say it another way, the steering tube is hollow.

if you plan on using the front stand only, make sure the bike will not have a tendency to roll back.
