Hello All,

I am getting new sprockets and I can get a pair (front and rear) New Old Stock Cheap. The deal is that the stock ones are 14 front 44 rear. (I think this is stock on an 89)

Than ones I can get are 15 front and 46 rear. What can I expect out of this pairing?

Slightly taller gearing than stock is what you can expect. -1 front is equal to +2.77 on rear so it's going to be geared almost stock.

 

Well I added 1 in the front and 2 in the rear. So is that like adding .77 on the rear?

No..........that is like taking away .77 on the rear. LOL. Essentiall you put on .77 less than if it was stock. If -1 = 2.77 up on the rear then going +1 and +2 leaves you .77 to make up. It would be closer if you went +3 although it doesnt really matter much.

 

I think the stock front sprocket is a 15.

With 14/46, I bet you'll feel a pretty nice difference.
