Default RE: RIM QUESTION

it won't matter because the anything wider will use a larger diameter axle bolt which in turn means the bolt hole will have to be enlarged, the axle adjusters will have to be enlarged, and the wheel spacers will be larger diameter but the width will need to be cut down. and then comes the caliper spacing as that will be off in relation to the rotor.

it's not the rim you have to worry about, it's everything else associated with it.

it's not like a car rim where you can buy a different one and be done. even if you get a larger rim to fit, you still can't run that wide of a tire because, dude, the whole swingarm isn't even that wide to begin with.

the width of the tire will hit the swingarm before you could even get the bolt hole centered. max tire width is 150. that allows for .5" of clearance between narrow end of swingarm and edge of tire and about .5" of chain clearance.

if you want to run a wider tire without modding anything, the easiest way would be to get a later model bike. besides that, i think forks on a later model will hold up better.
