Default Retard timing on CBR600f

I've got a quad that I placed a cbr600f motor in from an 88 donor bike. I've turboed it, but can only run up to about 7psi boost before I start to get detonation. I need to retard the timing, but the only thing I've been able to find to do it is the dyna2000 ignition which requires there coils as well and would cost around 600.00 total. Was wondering if anyone knows a quick and somewhatpocket painless way to retard the timing on these older 600 motors.

in the s.m it says that the timing is non adjustable. You just need all the electrical components working in unison im assuming. How did you turbo a carbureted bike? I thought too turbo charge something it had too be fuel injected .

A carbed motor is much easier and a whole lot cheaper to turbocharge than a fuel injected bike. What youneed to do fuel wise is rejet, add a fuel pressure regulator, and equalize the pressure in the carbs. On fuel injected you generally need to first lower the compression, because the newer bikes run such a high compression ratio, then you need to open up your pocketbook for a set of high flow fuel injectors, which is the big hitter, and add an aftermarket engine management system for tuning. There's more involved than that, but that's the big difference. I've done a little more research and found that by running a water/methanol injection system, you can run a higher boost while still running a stock or even advanced timing. I'm going to give this method a try, since it will also add 25-50 more HP on top of the added boost. They even have a fuel additive to mix with the meth, that's got a fair content of nitromethane that they claim can add up to another 50hp on top of that. Figure it's worth trying out anyway. I'll let you guys now how well it works after I try it out.
