I removed the engine from my 89 Cane to replace all of the gaskets due to an oil leak that i believe may be coming from the cylinder head.... Anyways since i am replacing all gaskets and dont want to have to remove the engine again.... i was curious if there are any other things that i should replace while i have engine out... also any pointers or things to look for.. common wear items etc.... Thanks everyone...

 

u may want to check ur cct ,valve clearance

 

What am I looking for with the CCT? I'm guessing that means Cam Chain tension? Also specs.for valve clearance? Thanks

 

the valve clearances are.....inlet valve 0.14-0.18 and the exhaust valve is0.18-0.22.. assuming u have a cbr 600 if urs is a 1000 message me and i can give u the 1000 specs..yes cct is the cam chain tensioer they can be weak also check u dont have the dreaded crack in the frame.lh side around engine mounts
