paint codes for hurricane
 

hi. I have a 90 cbr 600fl it has been painted red but was originally white blue and red. does anyone know what the paint codes were as can't seem to find them. Thanks mike

From what I know and most Honda literature there wasn't a red, white and blue paint scheme in 1990. The 1989 had this paint scheme. The paint codes for your bike are on a label on the frame if you need to verify the original color.


The following link should take you to a website where you can put your bike in the search engine and it will bring up the colors and codes. The Honda paint code numbers will come up in the left hand column once you run a search for your bike. You can buy perfect match paint from them. It is very good quality but expensive.

Also 1990 was no longer called "Hurricane" that name was dropped in 1989. It is a CBR600F1

OK thanks I'll have a look for paint code on bike tomorrow. Also have a picture of it in red, white and blue. before it was resprayed. I thought the hurricane was 87-90. mike

Honda had to drop the Hurricane name because of insurance issues in 1989. The 89 and 90 bikes do not have the Hurricane logo on them or are they referred to as Hurricanes. They had CBR on the tank in 89 and on the side fairings in 90. The bikes were known as CBR from 89 on with the generations having an F designation. 1987-90 are F1's.

The Hurricane name was only used in the US market. In the rest of the world they were CBR's from the beginning.

If the picture of your bike was white with a wide red stripe and a wide blue stripe it was most likely repainted in 1989 colors at some point. Most likely original 1990 color was white and dark silver gray. If you check for the paint code label my guess is white and gray will be the paint codes.
