Update. Started out this morning but of dramas , never had a bike with a choke

was Starting then really high rev then cutting out, repaying until battery died

got the exhaust in, 4 new spark plugs , new coolant , then bit of the same , starting then really high revs , exhaust supper hot straight away, bike basically sounded like it was going to blow up, then it finally calmed down

niw All good took it to end of the road and back so she’s running!! And 40000 km on the clock I’m thinking whether I should check the valve clearances are in tolerencewhile it’s still all in bits 🤔

Well done, getting there.
Yep good time for a valve check as they will almost certainly need adjusting, they all seem to get tight with age. When adjusting get as near to the max tolerance as you can.

Yes so on my exhaust the tolerence is 0.18-0.22 I have the 0.20 going under snug but my next feeler is a .23 so
i just made sure that the 0.20
is just getting under and then nutting her up

So after a bit of messing about finally done the steering bearings , just waiting for the dust seals to turn up for the forks and I can get the front end back together , then slap on a new chain and it’s ready for mot,

so far spent 380€

Bike was in tatters but I brought her back to life I’ll get it mot then put it up for 1500€ see if I can get that for it , only let down is the tank has some ****ty pain all peeling maybe will
take a few quid off the price,

Good job bringing it back! At least next bloke will get it in better condition than you! I just hate these awesome bikes getting binned due to abuse and lack of maintenance!

What’s a cheap front end for these if I was to make naked, the panels are all broken I think cheaper to just get a street fighter front , any good cheap options??
