I never new this place existed until I seen a link in Zarcoma post on Cbrworld. It is more active here than some of the other sites. Glad to have found it. Yes, I am the proud owner of the Blue/Silver 89' with the 600rr tail conversion which you may have seen all over the net. Lets face it, there are not many of us left who are willing to put the time and energy into older bikes. I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

Ras122, like what you did to your bike. I'm new to the forum also. I own a 1990 cbr 600. I would like to know exactly how you did it too. I wanted to do the same thing to my bike for a while now. Just didn't know how or if it could be done.

I have put alot of time into the bike, mostly just cosmetic since it runs like a champ. Here is what it looked like 4 years ago when I bought it.

welcome ras, i had asked some ?'s a while back on cbrworld as to some of the details as to how you made the conversion, my major question is the mounting. did you have to use the heat guard from the RR or did it mount up to the frame alone?

at any rate, welcome to the board, and good job on the bike, and yes the whole web does admire your conversions, as i know i do.

Ras, If you get a chance could you post your walk through on mounting that tail and what parts you used. I just ordered an 03 cbrr tail and am looking forward to putting it on!! But any help would be appreciated!

The parts list was not extesive, I used original subframe and mounted the tail. I had to cut the ICM mount and relocate it as well as the rear brake resivior. The parts are the tail cowl from an 03 600rr, tailight, 2 side covers, front and rear seats. I also used F4 passenger pegs which mounted right up to original mounts. I did not use the heat shield or plate mount from the RR. I used the rear fender from an F4 to mount the plate. The most difficult part to this mod was securing the driver seat. I'll take a pic of the mounts I came up with. Hope this answers your questions, I don't have a write up but I'll gladly help anyone out.

I am looking to do a gauge swap, has anyone attempted to do this? I'm not interested in going the Veypor route.
