Need A Jump - How to Remove Seat?
I've gotta get my Hurricane a jump start so I can get her to another garage for the winter today, but I don't want to mess up taking the seat off to get to the battery. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

There are two bolts on each side of the seat that hold it on. They are located underneath..... right about where the pillion seat meets the drivers seat.

Remove the sidecovers then remove the two 12mm bolts that hold the seat on. Then remove the top of the battery box -three 10 mm bolts.

you want to be carfull jumpstarting a bike. it can damage the charging system, cars put out way more current than a bike. Allways do it as a last resort.......I fried a reg./rec. that way. and if the battery is any good it will shorten its life span. That said I know from time to time you dont have any choice......

I've always thought it was silly how much effort it takes to remove the seat on the 600s. The 1000 is just a turn of the key and the seat is off. Lift the battery cover and you're done. It honestly takes less than 10 seconds and no screws/bolts involved. WTF was honda thinking on the 600s? :icon_shrug:

just another reminder to becareful jumpstarting a bike. you can always use a car battery to jumpstart it, but if the batter is still in the car, MAKE SURE THE CAR ISN'T RUNNING!

I can't tell you all how helpful I've found this to be. I'm glad I posted here before jumping it. I would have likely fried it doing everything wrong. Thanks for taking the time to post on this.
