Default My project Oct '09 to Feb '10

Hi all,

These are just a few poor pics of my bike at the end of it's winter project. I have no pictures of her before the work was done but in a nutshell, all the panels were off different bikes and the large fairing sections had come from a race bike and were badly repaired and scratched all over the place. The screen had UV degradation and the whole thing had been can sprayed with black plasticote, all topped off with a red tank pad. If anyone knows what plasticote from the can looks like you could imagine the state this girl was in.

Just to let you know what I've done:

Rubbed down every panel and had a friend respray them (including screen).
New brake pads.
Single seat cowl conversion.
New decals.
Black levers.
Black alloy screen and fairing bolt kits.
Taken the carbs off and cleaned them.

Still to add.

Flip up screen tinted black.
New chain
13 tooth front sprocket
decals for rear fairing.

Once she is totally finished I'll hopefully add some better quality images.

Regards,

Cuzy

im not sure if i like the trimmed front fenders on these bikes. i thought i wanted to trim mine when i first got it, but i've grown used to the huge fender. i think it fills in more space up front, doesn't leave those big openings. just kinda thinking outload.
good looking bike regaurdless.

The cowl was from airtech streamlining and was relatively cheap compared to most motorcycle components.

Not one rattle can has gone near this bike. All primer, colour and lacquer was done in an aviation spray shop. So not the best but good enough for me, especially as it was free!

Thanks for the comments everyone they are all appreciated.

No before pics I'm afraid, kinda of a stupid superstition of mine when going in for a big project.

how do you like the airtech stuff? did youhave to trim it to fit at all? and how did you get it mounted up, they leave it undrilled right?

The cowl was in pretty decent condition but the right locating tag needed filing down because it would not fit in the right rear fairing. The mounting issue was solved because just out of shot of the bike is a ban saw which was used to reduce the original rear section into a T-shape. The rear fairing was then mounted to the frame and double sided velcro is attached to the t section and a strip of velcro at the front of the cowl.

To be honest the velcro has not stuck that well but I have had no problems so far...............

If you want I'll post a pic of what it looks like underneath some time.
