It's ALIVE!
I just wanted to extend a thanks to all the regular posters on this forum. I have had a 1988 cbr600f (bought for $100) in my garage for about a year collecting dust while other things took priority and within the last few days I have had time to work on it. I probably hasn't ran in at least four years and after running down some of the start up checklists people have posted finally got it running today. Of course it needs a tune up so I will be removing the carbs and checking the cct but otherwise it surprisingly idled really strong. Oh by the way the bike won't start with the kill switch on. Who knew. Shaking my head on that one, but I finally did check it after looking over the no spark posts, just missed it because I had removed the handlebar and it was hanging. Switched it off and fired right up. Replaced the plugs, new oil and filter, refilled the coolant, by-pass of the fuel pump for now, and bingo.
