Interchangeability of parts: 600F and 1000F
I found Motion Pro lists a push throttle cable for the 600F (but no pull), and a pull cable for the 1000F (but no push).
I wondered whether the parts are interchangeable between models. I noticed that the Honda part #s are the same between bikes except for the middle characters which I understand (usually) represents the model (MN4 for the 600F, MM5 for the 1000F).
For instance, the first throttle cable for the 600F has part # 17910-MN4-000 (with replacement part 17910-MN4-010), and the same part for the 1000 has part # 17910-MM5-000.
Anyone know if this means parts with the same prefix are actually the same, or whether the prefix just means something like "Throttle cable" ?

I decided to take a chance and ordered a used F2 choke cable from EBay. This should go part ways, if not definitively, to answering my question about interchangeability anyways.
Motion Pro also said they could custom make one for me for about $90.

this weekend I will see if the length of the cables are close. If so, maybe I can shave the barrel down.
Check out your local bicycle shoppes. Cable ferrules come in variety of sizes. Measure existing cable, or location where it sits to determine approximate size. Then you can get appropriate ferrule from bike shoppe. Cut off one on new choke cable. Cut slot into new one to clear inner wire, then slide it on.

Thank you @dannoxyz … knowing that those things are called ferrules gave me a whole world of things I could search for on Google !
I found a this video showing how One could reuse an old ferrule
; if the cable I got in the mail (which seems to be in good shape) is of about the right length I may just try to reuse the old ferrule - IF, that is, I kept it around. Which sadly is by no means certain.
