Hi guys, this might be a very stupid question, but I can't seem to find a lock for the seat. I bought a CBR600F1 (1990) just yesterday and today I wanted to remove the seat and look for a toolkit but I did not see a lock like most bikes have, that allows you to unlock the seat and take it off. Before I start removing screws and fairings, I figured I could ask here. A search on this forum or in my Haynes manual did not provide me with the answer.

Thanks a lot! And by the way, is there a toolkit underneath the seat? Cause that was what I was actually looking for.

 

hi,

take off left side seat fairing the tool kit is near the centre of the bike, you do not need to take off seat, there is a cover you have to clip off next to the fuel filter,
if you want to take it off the seat there is a bolt either side (take both seat fairings off)
once they are off you will be able to lift the seat away from the bike
