How To: CCT

First remove the lower fairings, the cct is below the carbs, above the starter, hidden in the middle of a water neck. You should use a gasket though some people do not. A little rtv goes a long way;). Also torque to 15ft-lbs and apply loctite.

that's it really, the rest is about head disassembly and reassemble, and checking tolerances.
enjoy

Nice post, were there supposed to bethree images? Only the second one is showing.

RE: How To: CCT

Has anyone been able to remove the cam chain tensioner without removing the coolant hose that runs right next to it? I am having trouble getting a wrench on one of the CCT bolts because the hose is in the way.

So where did everyone buy their CCTs? Is any one better than another?

Thanks

I got mine from www.servicehonda.com ,RRasco put me on to them. Way cheaper than my local dealer. I've also seen the manual ones on ebay and other bike sites.

RE: How To: CCT

I just replaced my CCT with another factory CCT. By removing the left fairing I was able to use a small 1/8' socket and extention to remove both bolts from the CCT. The only problem I ran into was the coolant hose. Fortunately I was able to remove both bolts. Fortuntely for me I was able to reuse the old gasket. Overall it wasn't a bad job. My only problem right now is that I can't hear whether or not I fixed it because right now I'm fabricating a new piece of pipe for my exhaust so right now with straight headers it's to loud to tell.

Manual CCT

It is easier to install a regular OEM CCT then it is to install an aftermarket Manual CCT. The OEM CCT is about the same cost as an aftermarket Manual CCT.

The OEM CCT part number is 14550-MN4-023 and can be purchased from servicehonda.com.

The Manual CCT shown in these instructions was purchased new off of eBay for about $50.

If you want to see how to install a Manual CCT, check out the pics and instructions inmy next few posts...
