Handlebar Risers?
Does anyone make handlebar risers for the 1990 CBR 600? The ones I've found seem to start from 91 and go forward.
Thanks, Barry |
RE: Handlebar Risers?
that's a tough one. i would venture to say no because risers for such a small diameter fork are a specialty item and not a popular one at that. you could try to ask the manufacturer to make you a set, but i would think it would cost alot. there may be one manufacturer out there who makes/made them but you would have to ask around and dig deep, might get lucky and find leftover stock if they were ever made at all.

RE: Handlebar Risers?
I did find these ones:
http://www.1tail.com/sa/p/Honda_CBR_...bar_Risers.htm But it looks like they just put you up 3/4". I'd really like to find something that went up and back a little. Maybe I'm just getting old, but riding this kills the back of my neck if I ride for 40 miles or more. Of course, I'm used to riding a Geezer Glide so this is quite a switch. |

maybe it's time to trade up to a hornet 599. more up to date and a lot more upright.

how high you tryin to go, try to use some of those screw in risers. you have to do a little drill work though.

RE: Handlebar Risers?
I found risers that may work. just add a set of bars and your set. I am interested in doing the same mods to my 1990 600f.Will I need long cables and housing with a low rise bar?
http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/products.asp?id=77 What diameter are the fork tubes? 37mm? |
RE: Handlebar Risers?
they are 39mm.

RE: Handlebar Risers?
I found it on the net earlier today 37mm
and another cbrfans forum (87-90 canes have 37mm fork tubes.) I can't argue 3 vs 1, 37mm it is!!! Thanks |

my bad...

Sorry to dig up such an old thread but this looked the most relevant.
I usually hang out over in the Hurricane 1000F section and one of the ways to bring the handlebars up is to use the risers from an early '90s VFR750. I got my years mixed up and ended up buying a set of bars from an '86 VFR750. Imagine my surprise when I found that they were too small, being 37mm and all. Of course the seller won't take them back so I thought I'd offer them up here. They look like they're MUCH higher and farther back than the stock bars. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM. Thanks! |
