Default GPS Mount on 87?

My 87 Hurricane is my daily driver and I really need to get a GPS mount installed but it seems all the mounts for motorcycles I've seen are designed for round handlebars instead of the square bar like ours. Anybody have any ideas as to where to find something that will work or how to modify something to work? Thanks

Adam

I took a bolt with a washer, that fit into the steering head.
Slipped a piece of hose with an OD barely smaller than the ID of the steering head.
Add another washer and nut. slide it into the steering head, tighten the nut.
It will start compressing length of the tubing, causing the middle to expand.

Once the post is secure, with the end of the bolt sticking up about an inch,
that parts done.

Now, drill out a plastic bead (that's the same size as the ball-mount for your gps).
Epoxy the bead on the end of the bolt and you're set.

Here's a pic of my set-up...

Stealthy, I like it. I need to get a power port like you too. My friend did that on his CBR 600 F4i.

Now, drill out a plastic bead (that's the same size as the ball-mount for your gps).

Just for interest sake - it's the same size as a solid black paint ball

Fits the Garmin - type bracket perfectly !
And if you fit a long enough bolt you can fit the ball directly to the securing bolt that goes through the length of hose !

...Or google RAM-mount. They sell different bits you can craft your own mount from. A bit pricy but I rather pay for the mount than the mount and a new navi... Of course depends on how crafty you are...
