Got dumb questions, Need anwsers?

Its hard to tell if there is water in the reservoir, I cant ever tell and over fill it. Just remember it only takes 2L. Make sure you don't use just distilled water either, it will oxidize the aluminum block over time.
if you run straight water, not only will your block corrode internally, but your water pump seals will blow out. antifreeze has oils in it that condition the seals in the pump etc, as well as protecting the metal parts.

Did you take off the gas tank and actually open the radiator cap to see if there was any coolant in there?

No I didn't take it off I was looking in the reserve tank. How do I go about taking the tank off? Is that nessary to do to fill the radiator? Thanks

Yes absolutely. Take off rear side covers,then seat. Tank has 2 bolts. You can place tank on rear subframe
if you undo fuel filter and fuel line from their stays. Then you will see radiator cap in front of air box. I use some good old Prestone.
