17v !!! certainly appears you've identifies RR is culprit.
will want to replace that before it fries another battery.
Got a Chinese one on the way and a used one I found on fb market place, hopefully one of the two works. Otherwise its like 120 quid for a oem one 😭.

My theory with the low fuel is if the pump was running dry it could mess with voltages, I'll investigate if RR doesn't fix it

Petrol level doesn't change fuel-pump load much (until it's completely empty).

If anything pumping air lowers load on pump and it drops voltage less than when tank was full. Even then, tank has to be completely empty, pump wouldn't know anything about petrol level until it starts sucking air.

Regrec sorted it 👍 bike then decided to **** fuel out of the carbs so I opened them up, checked everything, gave them a clean and put them back on the bike. No longer leaking but seem to be unbalanced now, runs badly :/ endless battle this thing
