Finally some pics of my cafe/fighter!
well this alll started 2 years ago when my buddy traded a paintball gun for an 87 hurricane that had been wrecked in the front end but had a clear title.
He didnt have a place to store so I said he could keep it in my garge, after that day I knew I would eventually end up owning it.
I helped him tear it apart, he bought new forks and plastic. then he just gave up, the kid had no money and not even a car drivers license.
Well I had a flat black 85 jetta gli that I bought for 200 and used for a year to get back and forth to college. he jumped on the idea of trrading the jetta for the cbr, so I said sure and it was mine .
I had at this point a 1984 honda ascot vt500 that was in really nice shape and was a good commuter but jut a little to plain for me(which I finally just sold I think?)
Well let me start with what I have done...
Got the front end all together
Found one bent disc(!?) bought new/used ones ebay for $20!
took off the gauge cluster and got an old speedo from an old kawi that works perfect even has a light
relocated the key to the left side of the frame
both pegs were missing so I made some of my own out of railroad spikes(Iwill try to get a close up pick later) and yes they still fold!
for the head I found that headlight mounts that go around the forktube from an old parts bike fit perfectly! then added a 8in housing headlight made for a harley but was on my dads blown up cb450 cafe
chopped down the yoshi exhaust about 6inches
added sweet old skool turn signals from and old parts bike
specail edition st pattys day bud light bottle/can for my coolant overflow
custom plastic fender? insert under the seat
and my favorite part was the taillights, I had found them on an old boat trailer a while ago and knew they would great on something, so I went and welded a mount that screwed to underneath the passenger seat then I sprayed the tank, rear subframe, and rear splash guard flat black
new clutch cable
bar end mirrors which arent on yet
