F2 muffler/system onto F1 ?
Anyone have firsthand experience with the F2 exhausts and know whether they will fit onto an F1? I have seen hardly any nice, clean OEM mufflers or full systems for the 87 to 90 bikes (one nice guy on this forum said he will trade me for my D & D full system) for sale on Ebay, etc.
I am open to trading, but would rather not have to take apart the headers and the whole plastics, etc right now.
I have found quite a few cheap, clean OEM mufflers from the F2 - I was thinking of picking one up and seeing if a muffler shop could help me make a midpipe and or mounting tab so that I can use the OEM muffler with my current D & D header... or just try to swap out the whole thing?
THANKS

I just don't like the sound of the D & D and when it comes to my cars and bikes I really like to just stay with the stock equipment... for sound and for looks. I wonder if the D & D is messing up the way the engine is running? I am trying to just go back to the stock black muffler which sounded so much better IMO - my old 90 CBR600 was much quieter than this bike is!

I dont like the stock pipe myself, look and sound.
Its a bit of a trial and error if you want to fab something up not stock.
I run a 98 R1 carbon pipe on my cbr sounds great , not to loud and look so much better . All i had to do was spin the pipe a little and bolt the factory yamaha mount on the back side of the cbr one. Not one hole drilled or anythink , plenty of clearence to . $80 of trademe , whice is like ebay. How many pipes could you bolt on of onther bike like that without some sought of welding or fabing up a bracket ? I did have to cut it back a little where it mounts to the factory headers thou as its a long pipe, but only 5 mins with a hacksaw .
