Hey CorruptFile, I love seeing other peoples' F1s too - each one becoming more and more different as the years pass by. I love how these things were produced in an almost uniform way but then change so much with each owner. Mine has imperfections all over it (rust, scratches, bits missing, chopped off etc) but that's part of the charm. I love how our model has the almost cute-softness to the fairing but the animal-like rawness to the engine when its revved. I just hope that when I lay down my bike it will look as cool as yours.

Just a thought about your grips...
I had a similar situation as you on my F2 when I got it. The PO had cut the ends of the grip off on the throttle side to stop it catching on the bar end weight. I see a lot of grips for sale that are 125mm length but I always get the 120mm ones because I find they are the perfect size and don't need to be trimmed at all.

I had forgotten that our bikes are almost twins with the same color scheme & tank pad until I saw it again. The only thing I can see different is the tank decal. Yours is definitely in a bit better shape than mine cosmetically though I won't be riding mine much for awhile either unfortunately, but the dual sport can be fun in the winter
You mentioned corrosion on the bike, and I recently found out about this product called ACF-50 that has rave reviews for protecting aircraft, motos, etc. I'm not affiliated with them at all, but it sounds like a good low cost way to protect the bike. I'll probably try it out this winter and see how well it works, it isn't very expensive.

Thanks TahoeRider, I must admit though that my camera is low-tech and therefore very forgiving on my bike's cosmetics. I'll look into the ACF-50 you're talking about. I'd love a dual sport bike for the winter! Any recommendations? I'll need to extend my little shed too to accommodate it
Ah yes, just spotted it - XL600R!

The XL is a fun bike and makes quite a bit of power for an air cooled single. Very easy to ride too. The biggest complaint from most people is the suspension/brakes, so I'm collecting parts to replace the forks & shock with upgraded XR6 components. I don't think you could go wrong with any XL or XR in my opinion.
