Default Electrical issues in Week 1 lol

Hi guys, fun one here. 2 of my 3 F1s already have electrical issues 😁😁😁 I know they're known for it but it's the only one that's A2 legal hence buying One of them runs until I apply brakes or turn lights on, then engine and all electrics die. That's on a brand new battery. Any ideas? After it sits for a bit it lights back up and is fine.
Battery voltage is around 12.7, goes down to 12.4ish if bike is sat with ignition on and not running coz the fuel pump does this weird clicking thing, but I don't think that's causing it to die as its only when I apply brakes or lights. Thanks

Another has a similar issue, I rode it home for half an hour with lights on at night, no issues atall, and just as I pulled up to park it it cut out, hasn't turned on since. That one I'm wondering if it simply wasn't charging correctly, so I'm guessing stator and regrec? No clue just going off what I've read online

Default Maybe found the problem

This I believe is the stator connector, and that looks rather toasty to me 😅

It could certainly be something like that.... If that has three yellow wires going into it, then yes it is the stator plug.

It was pointing to an electrical issue when it was getting warm and shorting out

Whilst you have it apart checking all the connectors would not be a bad idea.

Yeah I'm checking everything, very annoying that to swap the stator I have to drain the oil as I just put fresh oil in it.

The one on my spares bike was in good nick so I'm fitting that and hoping for the best.

That's a shame, fingers crossed the 'other one' works.

The original might not be fried, you should check to see if there is a short to earth once the plug is repaired, you might just get lucky and a new plug will sort it.

Don't need to swap stator if coils aren't shorted and working.
Just cut off that connector and replace it.
Definitely crimp + solder on new terminals before inserting into connector.
Oxgard matching harness connector to clean it (or replace with new)

or even better, just join wire straight across with proper western-union splice.

Not something ive done before but I will give it a go next time I need to.

I swapped the stator and regrec and it seems to have solved the problem, atleast for now.

I think the one I took off was actually OK, one thing I did was clean the bit that spins round the stator as it was covered in thick grease

Proper test tomorrow, too loud at 9pm with the yoshi pipe

I would not see an issue with a "9 pm and a yoshi pipe" you have up to 10pm to be loud.
Or do you appreciate the neighbours?

Its my dad's house 😂😅

And they're lovely neighbours to be fair

Bike was all fixed, onto troubleshooting the next one which managed to make a battery swell up..

Starting point on that one will be the Regulator / Rectifier....
