Cutting oil line?
 

Hey i'm new here i ride a 1987 blue white honda cbr600f.

The previous owner did have a crash and the fairing in front of the bike was damaged.

Now i'm in the proces of making it a naked bike but the only problem is the oil cooler..

Is it possible to shorter the oil lines with an angle grinder and put hose clambs on them to mount on the oil cooler again? ( so i can put it below the radiator )

Yes the lines can be shortened they are just rubber hoses. The way I did it was I cut the hose with a razor knife and used metal tubing and spliced it back together. looking back a better way would have been to cut the hose off of the fittings and clamp them back after shortening. I also found a better place to put the cooler where it wont hit the front tire while riding. It may not cool quite as well but Ive never had a problem. Right above the oil filter on the front of the case I found 2 machined pads that had holes that werent tapped, I just tapped them carefully and made brackets to fit the cooler there.
I will get a better pic later but you can see where my cooler line goes here

I noticed with the oil cooler below the radiator it hits the front fender when hard braking / on a steep bump.
I will look into the spot you told me, here's a picture of the bike:

Looks like a good start. I had so much going on today I didnt get a chance to get different pics but where I'm talking about is pretty simple to find. I used thick sheet metal to make the brackets to bolt the cooler in once I tapped the holes. I''l try to get a pic when I get home tomorrow from work.

But i turned the oil cooler around and it fits in front of the radiator with out hitting it.

But now i've got a weird problem yesterday i drove about 3 miles and all of sudden the bike began to hold back very bad and its not riding consistant ( i cant drive 50mph ''smooth'' feels like chopping the trothle every second very weird )
This morning i had the same it feels like its running way to rich all of sudden :S

If its missing that badly I would check the plugs and wires first. The oil cooler is right there so it could be something as simple as knocking a plug wire loose. If its not that you will have to dig deeper into the problem

Hey i changed the spark plugs and cleaned the carbs ( they were pretty dirty ) but it didnt fix anything, i must say when it first started after cleaning the carbs it was running diffrent ( in a good way ) but the problem was still there.

It's still holding back and i cant ride consistantly when i open the trohtle more than 15% it sort of dies like its way short out of gasoline / way to rich :S

I'm not too good at diagnosing over the internet because it could be so many things but I will try to help.
Is the fuel pump working while its running.
Also you said you cleaned the carbs did you clean the jets and check the slide diaphragms for holes and tears, also make sure the floats are set at the right height. If the fuel system all checks out the next step is to check ignition system. I dont know if you have the manual but I know it has some trouble shooting steps and how to test the systems involved
