Default cough cough

Hi guys,
Looking for thoughts on this symptom.

Idling at the lights, fine, if a long light, still fine, but sometimes not. When I go to take off, it coughs, I pull the clutch in again, it revs up and off I go.

First analysis, running too high an octane rating, meaning unburnt fuel accumulating at idle that has to clear before it revs cleanly. So dropped it back to 90, seemed to make the issue go away. Then the temperature was up a bit and the symptom came back. Now I'm confused again!

Otherwise running really nicely, 4.4l/100km 53 mpg, US; 64 mpg UK. Seems to tell me the fuel overall is set up well?

Octane will have zero to do with this. Likely it is a rich fuel screw setting, potentially on maybe just 1 cylinder. Or, it could be the "choke", and the plunger for the enrichment circuit isn't full closing off, again, potentially on just one of the cylinders.

I have ran across this before where a bike ran seemingly great, but would cough or even stall after a long idle, worse at higher ambient temperatures. Always has come back to rich fueling in my experience.
