Anti dive system troubles
Hello all, I am currently restoring a 1987 CBR 600F I'm rebuilding the front shock and the anti dive system on the left hand side is shot, I see there is no OEM or aftermarket parts available for it.
From what I have read the anti dive system was pretty rubbish on these bikes so I'm happy to block it of, however, I can't find any where that will sell me a blanking plate.
SO I MUST MAKE MY OWN!
I know that I have to allow the fork oil to flow between both holes of the anti-dive system so my solution is to make a flat plate that runs flush with the fork surface and then cut a groove between the holes on the fork side.
hopefully these pictures help describe it.
The groove would be cut where the red line is
The big question is will this work? Or am I just going to ruin the shock ?
If it's not going to work then what are my options?? Does anyone know of someone who makes blanking plates?
Thanks,
JRM
