Cheap slip on

1 Attachment(s)
So I've got a stock 89 600f. My exhaust sounds like garbage, the stock muffler is all rattly inside, and i'm sick of it sounding like trash. I'd like a cheap slip on that I don't have to change the jets in the carb or anything like that.

I saw these on ebay, but i know if they don't provide enough back pressure, it will run lean if I don't change the jets for a bigger size. Is that correct?

Anyone know of anyone selling a muffler? I can always fabricate piping for it, that's no biggie.

My bike:

Just put a new chain on it, and I want to re-wrap the Corbin seat, becuase it's ripped up. Besides that, I need new front disks. Anyone know of any place I can get used disks that are in good shape? This is just my daily driver/beater, so I don't want to spend lots of money...

I like your paint, but that jetta tow hitch has me cracking up. I had the same problem so when i dropped my manifold to repaint i took what was left of the baffle out of the can and shook the rest out of the manifold. You want a cheap fix without the rattle, there it is.

It's a GTI, not a jetta... It is quite funny though towing the bike... :D

500hp daily driven...Built it all.

delkevic make aftermarket oem replacement. they are not a "hi performance" item. in this case, it would be one for one swap. nothing else need changing.

are they louder than stock? I want it louder too :)

Just got my delkevic that I ordered off ebay. I haven't heard a stock exhaust but I'm sure this isn't any louder. Still it looks shiny and if my bike wasn't all scratched up it would go well with the bike.

I purchased a Yoshimura RS3 muffler off ebay for $50. It has a 4 bolt flange on it I think, so I'll have to fabricate a midpipe for it.

What can I do to get around jetting my carbs?

Generally speaking, rejetting after installing a slip-on may not be needed. BUT when you take off the old muffler, try this experiment: Take a flashlight. Hold it up on one end of the stock muffler to see if it light shines through to the other side. Next hold the light at the end of the new slip-on. It's a neat little experiment and may help you decide if you want to rejet or not. Rejetting the carbs isn't as hard as it seems.
